The conference will host presentations and discussions on a variety of ancient scripts. It will examine 4 main aspects: 1) Theorizing Writing and Writing Systems, 2) Probing Origins of Writing, 3) Proto-writings, Art and Symbols 4) Social and Cultural Context in the Formation of Writing.
